- Students learning solid shapes and spatial ideas on a phone or laptop, including low-end phones.

The problem
Spatial ideas like volume and surfaces are hard to grasp from flat pictures, but heavy 3D graphics can slow down budget phones.
The solution
3D scenes are built with React Three Fiber and load only when needed, on devices that support WebGL. Other devices still get an SVG illustration.
How it works
What happens, step by step, from the user's point of view.
- 01
A fallback image shows first
When the page opens, a light SVG illustration appears right away, so there is no empty gap.
- 02
3D waits until it's visible
The 3D code is only downloaded when that section scrolls into view, not when the page first opens.
- 03
The device is checked
3D scenes only load if the device supports WebGL and isn't in data-saver mode.
- 04
Students rotate and explore
Students can watch a cube net fold, view a solid of revolution, or explore the Adventure-mode island map from any angle.
- 05
Safe when something fails
If a 3D scene fails, the slot falls back to the SVG image. The 3D canvas is released when scrolled off screen to keep the phone light.
System design
Who uses it, what they see, what works behind the scenes, and where the data lives. Read it from left to right.

2What they see
- SVG illustrationA light image that always appears first.
- 3D sceneCube nets, solids of revolution, the island map, and the mascot.
3Working on the device
- Device checkChecks for WebGL support and data-saver mode.
- On-demand loaderDownloads the 3D code only when its section is visible.
4Graphics technology
- Three.js and R3FReact Three Fiber draws the scenes; the mascot is code-built, not a model file.

What the business gets
- Spatial ideas are easier to grasp than from flat pictures.
- Budget phones stay smooth because 3D only loads on capable devices.
- No blank or broken sections, since a fallback image is always there.
- Pages open quickly because the 3D code is downloaded later.
Terms on this page
- WebGL
- A browser feature for drawing 3D graphics using the device's graphics chip.
- Lazy loading
- Loading parts of a page only when they are needed, so the first view is faster.
- Fallback
- A backup view used when the main version can't run.
